I've been away for a couple of weeks doing some work on my narrow boat that I bought in January this year. This is a little peek of how the hard work is going! I've been completely gutting the inside since the floorboards were rotting, the insulation was rubbish and it needs a bit of love.
This is a view of the floor, I'm taking up the floorboards, ballast (concrete slabs) moved out the way, plastic lining kicked out and a lot of angle grinding the rust off the walls, floor and ceiling before a coat of red oxide paint goes on. Its dirty work and nothing like my usual handiwork! I've done most of the work so far myself and it feels really satisfying and empowering to be building my own home!
After a hard slog it finally looks better, rust, water and dirt removed and a nice coat of red oxide. Been practicing my blackboard drawing too for my Steiner teacher training! There is light ahead.
